Playgrounds Reopening Noon, Saturday, June 27

Breaking_News

We are pleased to announce that late in the day Friday, June 26, the Illinois Park District community received confirmation from the Governor’s Office that outdoor playgrounds are able to be reopened.  As of Noon on Saturday, June 27 Huntley Park District Playgrounds will reopen.  Please allow staff the time to make necessary preparations and remove barriers and signs that exist at certain district playgrounds.

Please be advised that that equipment is not sanitized, therefore visitors use playgrounds at their own risk and under the following guidelines:

  1. Maintain a distance of 6 ft. between you and others from outside your immediate household.
  2. Cover your mouth and nose with a face covering when in close contact with others outside of your immediate household.
  3. Wash your hands with soap and water frequently including before and after use of playgrounds or carry hand sanitizer to use immediately after using equipment.

We would like to remind visitors that playground capacity will be limited to 50 visitors at a time.  Please help us responsibly emerge from this situation and do your best to follow these guidelines.  We are happy to welcome you back to our community playgrounds!

Note:  As we received the news late Friday, we will be unable to open restroom facilities until Monday, June 29.  Please plan accordingly when visiting our playgrounds.  Porta potties are available at some locations.  These units are cleaned once per week as indicated on the device.  Please plan accordingly.
