ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

The Huntley Park District is proud to host an in-house cheerleading and poms program for kindergarteners-5th graders. Our squads are led by HPD coaching staff through basic cheers, stunts, and tumbling! This recreational program offers an introduction to sideline spirit, while also challenging our squads to better themselves and work as a team!

Cheerleading vs. Poms

Both our cheerleading and poms programs provide a great foundation for sideline spirit, so you may wonder…which should I choose?

Cheerleading	Poms
Have a flag football & basketball season offered Perform for the entirety of the game (basketball or football) Uniform costs upwards of ^$85 Cheer bow provided in program fees Require girls to use their voices and yell loud!	Have a flag football & basketball season offered Perform at halftime of the game (basketball or football) Uniform costs upwards of ^$45 (however, pants are not included in uniform costs) Pom poms provided in program fees

Uniforms

Uniforms are required to participate in game days and are not included in the cost of the program. Uniforms can be used for multiple seasons. Please click here to purchase your team uniform!

Deadlines are set at the beginning of each season. Please see your season parent guide for the uniform ordering deadline.

Cheerleading:

Huntley Shell (top) and skirt (purchased here)
Black spandex or shorts for underneath skirt
White tennis shoes and white socks
Team Bow provided by the Huntley Park District
Optional for chilly game days:
- Dance/Yoga pants – Black
- Long sleeve shirt – black

Poms:

Black Leggings/Yoga pants (recommended: boot cut)

Schedules

Sideline spirit meets twice per week: once for practice and once for games. All games are held on Saturdays. Game times vary depending on the flag football or basketball schedule; however, cheer and poms games will be consistently held at the same time each week.
