Located in the Talamore Subdivision on Ackman and Route 47, Tomaso Sports Park was part of the open space agreement with developers. Developers are to provide a specific amount of open space for parks, schools, easements, etc. to benefit the community. Soccer fields opened spring of 2008 and we began baseball/softball play in July 2008.
Tomaso Sports Park was dedicated to the late Carl Tomaso, Carl was the Huntley Village Manager who passed away unexpectedly in July 2008. Known as “Coach Tomaso” to many, Carl was an avid sports fan and it was his passion to see young children enjoying sports to cheering on the Cubs and Bears.
Tomaso Sports Park is a hub of action from April to October. Baseball, softball and soccer abound at the 38 acre site with 7 soccer/football fields, 6 baseball/softball fields of various sizes, recreation path, playground, plaza area with restrooms, lighted ball fields and scoreboards. Programs are offered for ages 3 to 81 years of age. The Park District’s Smart Start Sports program is a parent/children program that instills not only skills of a sport, but also spending time with the family, sportsmanship and going outside to play.

Synthetic Turf Ball Diamonds
RULES
Please protect this community asset by observing the following rules:
1. A permit is required for organized team activities.
2. Water Only. No other food or drinks, including but not limited to soda, sports drinks, sunflower seeds, gum or chewing tobacco is allowed on the synthetic turf. Glass containers are prohibited.
3. Metal spiked shoes are not allowed on the synthetic turf. Clean athletic shoes (free of mud) and plastic cleats are permissible.
4. Only free-standing field markers and sports equipment may be used on the synthetic turf. No stakes, posts, poles or markers of any kind may be driven into the field.
5. Tables & chairs are not allowed on the synthetic turf.
6. Pets are not allowed on any athletic field surface.
7. Vehicles, including bikes or scooters of any kind are not allowed on the fields.

PUBLIC USE
This amenity will be available to the public similar to the previous fields, before the renovations. When teams don’t have the fields reserved for games or practices, they will be available to the public. The fields will be unlocked in the morning when our maintenance staff arrive and will be closed in the late afternoon or evening when all reserved activities are done for the day. It is also possible certain fields may be closed for maintenance at times. If they are locked, please use a different field.
Please also be mindful of the equipment which may be set up for games later that day. We ask that you not move any pitcher mounds or bases. Only free-standing markers or goals are permitted; you may not drive any stakes, poles or other markers of any kind into the surface.
