Just like summer camp children should bring the following:
- Backpack for their belongings
- Water Bottle
- Lunch
- Sunscreen and Bug Spray if this is a concern
- Children with cell phones may bring them; however, use of these will typically be limited to pick-up and drop-off times. Please see the parent handbook for more information on this.
For Remote Learning Camp children should also bring the following to provide the best environment for learning:
- Their daily schedule from their teacher.
- Their school-issued device (which must be charged each night, just like school).
- Feel free to have your child pack their charger.
- Headphones with a microphone to participate in learning video calls.
- Necessary supplies (we will have a shoe-box size storage for their writing implements and other school-related supplies)
- Parents should bookmark any necessary websites or apps that their kids may need to use.

What will the day look like for Remote Learning Camp?
Huntley Park District is working with D158 to better understand their school day. I'm sure we will continue to adjust and adapt as the school year gets underway. We know that children will be doing synchronous learning (live with the teacher) and asynchronous learning (independent activities that are done on the students time and pace).
Because children in each group may be from schools, and even different grades, we know children will be working at different paces throughout the day. During breaks staff will plan to make as much use of the outdoors to allow for mask breaks and to do many other camp activities.
Once school activities have concluded for the day for each group, Park District staff will transition to camp activities which will make as much use of our vast indoor space and our outdoors space and provide fun enrichment activities for the kids.
Snack will be provided at about 3:00p each day, or as the child's afternoon schedule allows.

Are you doing any health screenings for campers or staff?
Huntley Park District has provided a Health Screening to all employees and participants. Both employees and participants are required to review, understand, and if COVID-19 symptoms exist they are to stay home.
You can view the Health Screening which is to be self-administered by staff and by participants (or by their parent/guardian).
Additionally, we do have a designated space for those that may develop symptoms of COVID-19 during the course for the day where they can be isolated, yet supervised appropriately by staff, until parents arrive.

My child has an IEP at school. How will your Remote Learning Camp address this?
As park district staff are not certified teachers, nurses, or social workers we are not able to provide the same level of accommodation as you child might receive at school. However, we are happy to provide reasonable accommodations to help your child participate in our program and will make every reasonable effort to seek guidance from parents or other school staff as is appropriately authorized.
We are providing a supervised space for children to participate in their remote learning and will provide camp activities when children are not actively engaged in school activities.

When you registered you received an email receipt from the Huntley Park District. That receipt contains important information in addition to the receipt. That will be an email with an attached .pdf receipt and instructions on how to create an ePact Account.
ePact is a system we use to track medical, allergy, special need, and other important information about each participant. It is also the way we administer authorized pick ups for each child. Only users (parents/guardians) have access to your account information and only the users can add authorized pickup persons. If you are having trouble with your ePact account please contact our office at (847) 669-3180 x. 1. ePact also provides a phone number for support on their site.

Do we register by grade or by age?
Summer Camp registration is based on the grade your child will be entering in the fall of that year. Our system recognizes this based on the age as of September 1 of that year, which is the same date the school uses for determining grade eligibility.
If you have a child that is an exception to this for any reason, please contact our office as our online system will not recognize this exception. We will work with you on a solution that is best for all parties.
Remote Learning Camp is done by grade by those entering Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Park District staff will make groups based on the number of children that sign-up. Kids will be placed in groups of no more than 15 and these groups could have children in adjacent age groups, depending upon the number of children enrolled for each grade.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

What is the payment process?

Unless paying IN FULL, all camp registrations REQUIRE an automatic payment method on file. If you wish to pay by check or cash, you still must have a valid automatic payment method on file, but you can pre-pay in person at the Huntley Park District before the Tuesday before camp starts. Your payments and the credit card on file must be kept current. If not kept current, your child's fee may not be paid on time and you may possibly forfeit their spot in camp.
Because of the health and safety precautions we are taking this summer, if you child is sick or possibly sick due to COVID-19 we are happy to refund you any unused portion of camp with a medical note.
