Huntley Park District is committed to working with our community partners in offering high quality care for your children before, after, and now during school (when remote learning is in session).  As this current school year progresses we will work to provide several options for families who need a safe place for their children grades K-8 to go for remote learning while parents tend to other responsibilities such as work, other younger children, and other commitments.  Let us help you navigate this unprecedented year.  As the school district progresses back to full in-person learning over time, we will continue to adapt to the D158 school schedule to provide you with options.  Below is a list of options that are currently available.  If you have any questions, please call us at (847) 669-3180 x. 1.

Huntley Park District will continue to update its offerings based on the Huntley School District 158 schedule.  There are children from several districts who are participating in our program.  We will not be able to provide customized offerings for each school district, but as long as our options continue to work for these individuals, they are more than welcome to continue participating in our program.

REMOTE LEARNING CAMP AND EXTENDED TIME
Kindergarten - 8th Grade

This recreation-based camp is designed to provide children a safe environment to complete their remote learning, participate in enrichment activities, and engage in fun activities with their peers indoors and outdoors.  Staff will be on duty to assist children with common computer issues, but our staff are not school educators or tutors. This unique opportunity will allow children to enjoy other activities when not actively engaged in schoolwork.  Children must wear a mask each day and must be Independent Learners. Outdoor activities will allow for mask breaks as much as reasonably possible.  Camp will not be held on regularly scheduled school days off.  Groups not to exceed 15 will be formed and staff will provide help to students as needed.  Fees will be charged semi-monthly on the 1st and 15th of the month.  Prices below reflect the monthly fees but participants will be charged semi-monthly in amounts that are half of what is listed with each payment. 

A corresponding Extended Time (ET) Program is also available for this program to provide traditional after school care from 3:30-6:00p.

You may register for the programs online or in person and a staff person will contact you to confirm placement within 2 business days.  All new registrations that happen after the program has begun will start the following week.  Spaces are limited.  All registrations can be conducted online.  If you are a School District 158 teacher please contact our office for more information on opportunities available to you.

2020 Health and Safety Rules Guidelines

Our top priority is the safety of our campers and our staff and the Huntley Park District has made some changes to our camp program to address the current pandemic and deliver a safe camp program.  With the release of the Phase 4 guidelines we have updated the items below to be compliant with these requirements.  As a reminder, guidance can change at any time in Phase 4 based on medical data that is being observed by the State of Illinois on an ongoing basis:

  1. The Remote Learning camp day will be offered from 7:30a-3:30p.  An afternoon Extended Time Program will also be offered from 3:30-6:00p.
  2. Parents of our campers should review the Health Screening Questions and by arriving at camp you are affirming that these conditions do not exist to the best of your knowledge.
    1. If a child does have symptoms of COVID-19 they should not enter the premises until they have had no fever for at least 72 hours (without medication), other symptoms have improved, and at least 10 days have passed since their symptoms first appeared.
  3. Employees also follow the health screening guidelines and if they meet any of the criteria they will be held out of camp as outlined in the health requirements.
  4. If a participant or employee does contract COVID-19:
    1. They should remain isolated at home for a minimum of 10 days after symptom onset and can be released after feverless and feeling well (without fever-reducing medication) for at least 72 hours OR has 2 negative COVID-19 tests in a row, with testing done at least 24 hours apart.
    2. If this is determined in our program all individuals and staff in that group (cohort) must be quarantined for 14 days and not able to participate if they are determined to be “close contacts.”  Close contacts are defined as “household contacts, intimate contacts, or contacts within 6 ft. for 15 minutes or longer unless wearing N95 mask during period of contact.”
  5. Should children exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 during the camp day, they will be isolated from other children and monitored by staff until parents pick them up.  Parents should understand that under these guidelines it is more likely than ever a camper may be sent home and should have a plan to pick them up if such symptoms are observed.  If observed, please refer to item 3a for return to camp.
  6. Check-in and check-out are done through ePact system and you can expect it to be “touchless.”  We will also be offering curbside drop off and pick up for all levels except Kindergarten and 1st Grade on days when weather is good.  On days where weather in not good participants will receive notification from our ePact system and the Weather Page will be updated by 7:00a to let you know which procedures to follow.  Please review these procedures here.
  7. If your child will be absent from camp, you must contact our Absentee Line no later than 9:00a each day.  We need to know the first and last name of the parent, the first and last name of the child, which camp they child is in, and the reason for your absence.  You can email camp@huntleyparks.org or call (847) 515-2965 to communicate this.
  8. All participants and staff must wear a cloth face covering when they enter and exit the building.  While indoors all participants must wear a cloth face covering unless eating or drinking.  If distancing of 6 ft can be achieved outdoors, masks may be removed.  We will spend as much time outdoors as possible.
  9. We will limit parents entering the building as much as possible.  If there is a situation where you must enter the premises, all visitors must sign-in and wear a face covering.
  10. All participants must bring their own lunches to camp each day.
  11. The Park District provides one pre-packaged snack item in the afternoon.
  12. All staff will have face coverings on them and use as directed by State guidance.  In situations where close contact is necessary, you can expect staff to wear them.
  13. Camp groups are not able to “mix.”  This means that the groups of up to 15 will be together each day, will participate in activities together indoors and outdoors, and will not be integrated at any time with other camp groups as required by the health and safety guidelines.
  14. We know it will be difficult for children to follow many of these new rules.  Our staff are here to help them learn and be successful.  However, under our current circumstances, repeated failure to comply with health and safety rules (intentional or unintentional) may require disciplinary action up to and including removal from camp as outlined in our Code of Conduct.  Any situation that will routinely involve interaction with a participant within 6 ft. creates a direct threat to the safety of the child and staff.  Those situations will be evaluated and if they cannot be consistently maintained participation in camp will be evaluated.
  15. You can expect appropriate cleaning of our buildings, notably bathrooms and high touch items will be cleaned and disinfected every 2 hours. 
  16. Specific equipment will be assigned to each group of 15 and staff will disinfect items such as balls, writing implements, etc. after each use.
  17. Hand washing with soap and water will be done most often and hand sanitizer will be readily available where soap and water are not available.
  18. Disinfectant wipes will also be readily available to ensure high touch surfaces and equipment are safe for use.
  19. Though public water fountains are still closed, our facilities have been fitted with "touchless" water bottle fillers at key points for refilling of water bottles.  Additional resources are also available for water.
  20. Signs will be posted as reminders for staff and customers.

‚ÄčFor customers who are requesting accommodation for a disability, please call our main office at (847) 669-3180 x. 1 and ask for the supervisor of the program you wish to enroll for at least two weeks prior to the activity begin date.

We know these new changes can seem confusing or strange to children, and our staff are here to help them learn and be successful, including giving reminders and encouraging games and activities that will help the children to be successful.  However, please understand that under our current circumstances, failure to comply with health and safety rules, whether intentional or not, may require removal from camp as outlined in our behavior management policy when it creates a direct threat to the safety of the patron, staff, or other campers in the program.  Those situations will be evaluated on a case by case basis (and with input from the participant's family) and if the rules cannot be satisfied, participants may be removed from camp. 
 

Fee and Registration Information

  • Beginning October 19 School District 158 is offering a Hybrid Option to families.  In order to accommodate this we are offering a corresponding Remote Learning Day and Extended Time Program for those in Group A and Group B. 
  • For those already in our program you may register with no initial fee upfront and your semi-monthly payments will continue under the new plan/fees.  Your last semi-monthly payment for the current program will be on October 1.   You just need to register for the new program, and we will cancel the old.  If you wish to remain in the option you have now, there is no action you need to take at this time. 
  • Registration for current participants for the new Hybrid School Day options will begin on Friday, October 2.  Current participants will have priority registration and registration will open up to the general public (not already in our program) on Tuesday, October 6.  Those currently in our program are guaranteed a spot as long as you register between October 2 and October 5.
  • For those enrolled in our current Remote Learning Camp options, those options will remain available for middle school students and non-District 158 students till such time that they become obsolete or no longer attended.
  • There is a one-time $55 non-refundable registration fee for each new household (if currently in our RLC program you will not be charged again, as you've already paid this fee).  Prices listed are monthly fees and at the time of sign-up, the registration fee of $55 is due to hold your spot.  Your first payment will be charged on October 15.  The remaining semi-monthly payments (if remote learning were to continue all year) will be charged on the 1st and 15th of each month through May 15, 2021. 
  • Payments are figured based on 174 school days and divided evenly for 9 months.  
  • All registrants will be charged semi-monthly for their participation for the upcoming month. All registrations REQUIRE an automatic payment method on file such as Debit Card, Credit Card, or ACH. If you wish to pay in person a monthly payment method is still needed to complete your initial registration but if you choose to pre-pay for each payment, you may do so no later than 5 days before each payment is due in person, and we will not charge you that semi-monthly payment. (Please indicate this to the staff person that is processing each month).  You MUST still have a valid automatic payment method on file.
  • Cancellations must be made 7 days prior to program begin date, or before next scheduled billing.  No refunds will be issued if cancellation happens within 7 days of program start date/next billing period.

Prices listed are monthly fees; however, you will be charged semi-monthly on the 1st and 15th of each month equal to one-half of the prices below.

  • Fees listed are monthly. Fees will be charged semi-monthly in which each payment will be half this amount.  

  • Please match the symbols # and ^ from the ET options to the corresponding RLC Option for those electing for the Asynchronous attendance days only.

  • Those RLC programs that are held 5 days a week, including the new 5 day a week Hybrid Option, may select any of the 5-day, M/W/F, or T/Th Extended Time Options.

  • Bolded Programs begin October 19.  All other programs are currently offered and will continue to be offered for those who elect the full remote option with D158 and for those students who are not D158 students.

  • > Indicates transportation provided by D158 busses to and from our program to school.  Note: to be transported to school each day from our program, participants must be dropped off no later than (a designated time to be announced when the bus schedule is confirmed).  If participants are dropped off after this time, parents will be responsible to get children to school those days.

Absentee Line

We are required to keep detailed attendance and when children are not present a parent should report the absence and the reason why.  For any absences due to camp please call the Remote Learning Camp Absentee Line at (847) 515-2965 no later than 9:00a the day of camp.

After the short recording, please provide the following information:

  1. Your first and last name?

  2. Your child or children’s first and last names?

  3. What camp they are in?

  4. What is the reason for the absence that day?

Once drop-off for the day is conducted and a child is absent and a call wasn’t received, a person will contact you to confirm their absence and the reason.

Remote Learning Camp Overview

Remote Learning Camp has several options for families including a 5-day a week option, a Monday, Wednesday, Friday option and a Tuesday/Thursday option.  After School ET is available all 5 days of the week as it corresponds to your Remote Learning Camp schedule.

For increased flexibility for families, Huntley Park District also offers complimentary after school care services for our Remote Learning Camp program if an extended day is something you need.  After School ET is available for the days specifically listed and changing days of the week regularly is not an option with the health and safety rules in place at the present time.

Food Information

Participants should plan to bring a water bottle and a morning snack each day.  An afternoon snack will be provided.  You may provide your own lunch or participate in the Free Lunch Program.

Huntley School District 158 is offering a Free Lunch Option to all children in the community through December 31, 2020 through a program provided by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).  If you are attending our program your children are eligible to receive free lunch at our program.  If this is a service you are interested in, please contact us at camp@huntleparks.org for more information and to sign-up.

Transportation Information

Transportation will be provided by the school district from the Rec Center in the morning to school, and then from the school to the Rec Center each day on the mornings that the students go to in-person school (this applies only to those who select the 5-day option).  If you prefer to make other arrangements to get your child to school in the morning on the in-person learning days, you may elect to do that as well, and the school will still bus to our location after school, regardless of which "busing zone" your child's school is in. We have our own dedicated routes from each elementary school.

To utilize the school transportation services you must fill out the Busing to Sitter Form and submit to the school district at transportation@district158.org.  It has been pre-populated with the location and contact information needed for our program.  (Note:  The option "pick up from sitter" is not an option for our program.  Not all participants have to be bused in the morning, but all will be bused back to us after in-person learning in the morning)  Busing services are only available to District 158 Students.
