PARK DISTRICT AND PLAYGROUNDS
CLOSED UNTIL MAY 1 - CAMP AND POOL UPDATES

Summer Brochure and Registration:  The summer brochure WILL NOT be mailed to homes for the summer.  The summer brochure is now posted online and registration is ongoing and available ONLINE ONLY on Monday, April 13.  All other activities and programs can also be searched through our online registration portal Web Trac.  We have posted additional instructional videos to help those of you who may be new to online registration.  If you don't know your login information please contact us at the email provided above.

Summer Day Camp Registration:  Registration for Summer Day Camp is now ongoing.  This registration will be available ONLINE ONLY due to our current closure.  Specific instructions, helpful tips, how to get access to your online account if you don’t know how, and screencasts of how to do this online are now available HERE.  Also, please note, the following as it pertains to camp:

  1. At this time we are planning to hold camp but fully expect there to be new social distancing guidelines and safety procedures.  We intend to follow whatever guidance is recommended to deliver a safe camp experience.
  2. With that, we expect there may be changes to items like field trips, group activities, and pick up and drop off procedures.  Whatever it is, we are prepared to adjust.
  3. Parents should also be prepared for the possibility that we are restricted from offering camp in any capacity and should have a backup plan in case we are restricted from offering this service.
  4. Should camp be cancelled due to situations beyond our control, all participants would receive a FULL refund, including the normally non-refundable deposit.  It is the intention of the Huntley Park District to make whatever situation we face right for our customers.

Stingray Bay Discounted Pool Prices Extended
Stingray Bay Pool discounted prices were set to expire on April 30.  Since this pass is only available to purchase online, and our office is closed, we have extended this through Monday, June 1.  Should additional restriction come into place we will evaluation extending this further.  We are still planning to open the pool Memorial Day weekend unless ordered otherwise.  As we are unsure of what the future restrictions will be, if any, we will evaluate refunds if any part of the season is minimized or cancelled.

Park District Still Closed
Based on the recent order by Illinois Governor Pritzker, Huntley Park District remains closed until at least Friday, May 1 or until the Governor's Executive Order is lifted to help minimize exposure to participants and staff and to help slow the spread of the virus.  All activities, rentals, and events are cancelled until Friday, May 1 or until the order is lifted.

Use of Outdoor Spaces: With the latest order from Governor Pritzker, Huntley Park District “playgrounds” are closed.  In addition all basketball courts, skate parks, and the outdoor fitness park are closed.  Any organized activities of any kind are not permitted.  Use of these amenities is a violation of the States's executive orders.  We ask parents to please supervise their children and educate them on the restrictions of this Stay at Home Order.

Other open spaces and trails owned by the Park District are still available.  With that in mind, while visiting Huntley Park District parks and open spaces, residents and guests please observe Centers for Disease Control COVID-19 guidelines, which include staying at least 6-feet away from others and refraining from gathering in groups of 10 or more. This also means avoiding playdates, picnics, pick-up games, and team practices. Finally, and most importantly, if you are not feeling well, please stay home until you have fully recovered.  Any public bathrooms maintained by the Park District are also closed.

Communications:  Essential staff will be working remotely during this time and our Office is closed. If you need to reach us during this time you can reach us via Facebook, email us at info@huntleyparks.org, or call and leave a message at (847) 669-3180 x. 1 or.  Staff will periodically check these message centers and reply a few times a week.

Program Cancellations/Refunds:

  • Extended Time (ET) Program and Seedlings Preschool participants were not assessed their April or May billing (which were scheduled to be charged on March 16 and April 15).  If and when activities resume, we will assess further adjustments in billing. If this program ends up cancelled for the year we will review amounts paid and issue any refunds if necessary for days missed in March.  Please note, that payments are charged in 9 equal installments based on the number of days you attend our program.  Refunds will vary depending the level of service and the timing of the closure.
  • Fitness and Kids’ Club memberships will not be charged on April 1 or May 1 if we are still closed.  Whenever we resume activities, future billing for fitness will be adjusted depending upon the length of time we are closed.
  • All other activities will be evaluated, and further communication will be sent as necessary future changes occur.
  • Spring Soccer is currently delayed.  We hope to still play some of the season still and once a date is determined to resume participation, we plan to issue prorated refunds accordingly.  The season has not yet been cancelled.  Should it be cancelled customers will receive a full refund.
  • Other programs such as Gymnastics, Dance, Ice Skating and several others provided by Independent Contractors are being reviewed and those enrolled will be updated accordingly.

The Park District will continue to provide updates as information becomes available at www.huntleyparks.org.   Please continue helping your friends, families, and neighbors through this difficult time.  We hope you all stay safe and continue to find creative ways to play and recreate at home.
