Huntley Park District Honors Distinguished Volunteer

The Huntley Park District has honored Rikki Lee Travolta of It's Showtime Theatre of Huntley with their Distinguished Volunteer award. Since 2018, Travolta has been the cornerstone for the inception and development of ISTH. While still a growing program within the community, Travolta and ISTH have put on multiple productions such as Ticket to Broadway, Much Ado about Nothing, and Magical Musicals & Pixie Dust. When asked what Rikki Lee Travolta has meant to the theater community in Huntley, Huntley Park District Recreation Supervisor Stephanie Scott replied, "he has truly been the catalyst that continues to ignite a spark of interest in theater and performing arts within our community."

Rikki Lee’s resume includes headlining such productions as One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, Noises Off, West Side Story, Rent, Bye Bye Birdie, and Camelot. For his starring role as Randal P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Rikki Lee was nominated for Best Actor in the Broadway World 2016 Chicago Theatre Awards. His performance in West Side Story in Los Angeles was heralded as a Best Bet by the esteemed Los Angeles Times. 

Branching out from theater, Rikki Lee has appeared in the films The Lurker, Old Advice from a Dead Friend, Vampirus, Crime Fiction, That Night, and Fear Frenzy!. He also appeared in 6 episodes of the series Upstaged. Regarding his appearance in The Lurker, The Rotting Zombie praised Travolta as a "great scene stealing actor."
